Inconel 601 Pipe UNS N06601 Tube ASTM B167 B163 B751 B775 B829

Inconel 601 pipe is widely used in the aerospace, chemical, power generation and heat treatment industries. ASTM B167 for seamless pipe and tube, ASTM B163 for seamless tube, ASTM B751 for welded tube, ASTM B775 for welded pipe and ASTM B829 for seamless pipe and tube, Inconel 601 (UNS N06601) pipe is commonly used to manufacture gas turbine engine components, heat exchangers, industrial furnaces and chemical processing equipment. Inconel 601 can effectively withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments.

Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium alloy consisting primarily of 58.00-63.00% nickel, 21.00-25.00% chromium and small amounts of iron. Its chemical combination provides excellent oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength. The high chromium content enhances the alloy’s stability at elevated temperatures, making it resistant to sulfides and other corrosive chemicals. In addition, Inconel 601 shows good resistance to oxidation and thermal shock, and UNS N06601 and W. NR.: 2.4851 are equivalent alloys.

UNS N06601 Features & Advantages

  1. Excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures, the excellent oxidation resistance of INCONEL Alloy 601 is related to the nickel, chromium and aluminum content of the alloy. During exposure to high temperatures, these elements form a very protective and adhesive oxide film on the surface of the material. In addition, slight oxidation occurs within the material, resulting in a higher chromium content in the surface oxide.
  2. Excellent resistance to carbonization
  3. Excellent resistance to oxidation sulfur-containing atmosphere
  4. Excellent mechanical properties at both room and high temperatures
  5. Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking properties due to control of carbon content and grain size, 601 has a high creep fracture strength, so in the field of 500 ℃ above the recommended use of 601.
  6. Has high mechanical strength, and is readily formed, machined and welded.

Application

Inconel 601 is a nickel alloy material. It has strong resistance to oxidation at high temperatures, strong resistance to charring, and good resistance to oxidizing sulfur-containing environments, and good mechanical properties at room temperature and at high temperatures, as well as good resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The Inconel 601 alloy has good high-temperature creep resistance, and it is recommended that Inconel 601 be used as a material in environments with temperatures of 500°C and higher. Inconel601 alloy has good high-temperature creep resistance.

  1. In aerospace, it is suitable for manufacturing high-temperature and high-pressure parts such as aircraft engines, turbine parts, high-temperature burners, jet pipes, etc.
  2. In the chemical industry, it can produce strongly corrosive acid and alkali containers, pipelines, heat exchangers, pipelines and other chemical equipment.
  3. In the heat treatment industry, it is suitable for producing high-temperature furnaces, heaters, heat exchangers and other kinds of heat treatment equipment.
  4. In the nuclear industry, the nuclear facilities in the reactor, such as the internal structure of the reactor, fuel components, etc..
  5. In the field of pressure vessels, it is mainly used in the production of high-temperature and high-pressure vessels, filters, reaction towers and so on.
  6. In medical equipment: suitable for the production of high temperature, high pressure, sterilization, medical equipment, etc.

Inconel 601 Pipes

Inconel 601 alloy tube has excellent high temperature and corrosion resistance and can maintain stable performance under extreme working conditions. The alloy tube is mainly composed of nickel, chromium, iron and other elements, of which the content of nickel is up to 58% or more, which makes it excellent resistance to oxidation and vulcanization. In addition, the Inconel 601 alloy tube also has good thermal stability and thermal fatigue performance and can work at high temperatures for a long time without deformation or cracking.

The manufacturing process of Inconel 601 alloy pipe mainly includes melting, casting, rolling, heat treatment and other steps. Firstly, nickel, chromium, iron and other raw materials are mixed according to a certain proportion and then melted under high temperatures. Then, the melted alloy liquid is poured into the mold for casting to form a preliminary pipe shape. Next, the pipe is processed by rolling to achieve the required size and shape. Finally, the tubes are heat-treated to eliminate internal stresses and improve the performance of the tubes.

In the manufacturing process, the process parameters of each link need to be strictly controlled to ensure the performance and quality of Inconel 601 alloy tubes. At the same time, it is also necessary to carry out strict inspection and testing of the pipe to ensure that it meets the relevant standards and requirements.

With the continuous development of new energy, new materials and other fields, the demand for Inconel 601 alloy tubes will increase. Especially in aerospace, nuclear power and other high-end fields, the requirements for material performance are increasingly high, and the Inconel 601 alloy tube will be more widely used. ASTM B167, B163, B751, B775, and B829 are designed via ASTM for Inconel 601 pipes.
